KUWAIT: Sources at Kuwait airport said a ruling family member arrived from a Gulf country and entered the VIP hall with several bottles of liquor, but customs officers discovered them.

The sources said an officer attempted to confiscate the liquor, which made the “sheikh” angry and a verbal exchange took place, prompting the officer to inform his seniors.

When they arrived, the argument got more heated to a point that the sheikh insulted all officials, and insisted that he leave with the bottles.

The sources said something then took place and the sheikh was able to leave with the liquor. It was learnt later that “senior authorities” admonished the sheikh for his actions, and instructions were given not to allow him to use the VIP hall, and he must cooperate with customs officers. — Al-Rai
