GAZA: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed on Sunday food packages to hundreds of displaced Palestinians in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on the occasion of the approaching of Ramadan. KRCS started the distribution process in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), which helped brief the Kuwaiti institution about 1.5 million displaced Palestinians living in tents and in dire humanitarian conditions due to the continuation of the Zionist occupation aggression for the sixth month in a row.

Head of the KRCS Operations Sector and the Kuwaiti medical team Dr Musaad Al-Enezi told KUNA that this campaign comes upon the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his keenness on humanity and philanthropy. Dr Enezi said the campaign coincides with the approaching holy month of Ramadan, and the distributed food packages include basic nutritional supplies and flour.

He pointed out the Kuwaiti team is divided into three groups, one team performing medical operations at Gaza’s European Hospital, one at Kuwait Specialized Hospital, and one relief team in the camps. He expressed his hope to increase the amount of aid and relief campaigns in coordination with the concerned parties to help ease the “difficult situation” of the displaced Palestinians.

Hundreds of displaced Palestinians expressed appreciation to Kuwait’s leadership, government and people for constantly sending aid and relief since the Oct 7 war on Gaza. On Saturday, a medical team from Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) entered Gaza performed some critical surgeries on Palestinians injured at a number of hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

Head of the surgery department at Gaza European Hospital Dr Emad Al-Hout said the Kuwaiti team provided psychological support to all doctors working in Gaza, noting that Kuwaiti doctors performed some pancreatic and heart surgeries. He thanked HH the Amir, the Kuwaiti government and people for their support to Palestinians, hoping for more medical support.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s 48th plane loaded with relief supplies for the Palestinians in Gaza arrived at the Marka International airport in Amman, carrying 40 tons of food sent by Al-Salam Society for Humanitarian and Charitable Works. Ambassador of Kuwait to Jordan Hamad Al-Marri stated to KUNA and Kuwait TV after the plane’s arrival that this is a continuation of the directives of the Kuwaiti leadership to support brothers in the Gaza Strip, due to the blatant Zionist occupation aggression as well as starvation, the effects of which have become evident recently on Palestinian people.

The relief aid is an extended series of Kuwaiti popular and official support, which has stood with the Palestinian cause since its beginnings and struggle of the brotherly Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist occupation, added Marri. He noted the aid that arrived Sunday will be sent urgently in coordination with the Jordanian air force and the Hashemite Charitable Organization to ensure its arrival in Gaza as soon as possible. The ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the efforts exerted by the concerned authorities, in Kuwait and Jordan, to facilitate and operate the Kuwaiti relief bridge.

Director of Al-Salam Society Dhari Al-Buaijan said in a statement that the association is keen to provide the appropriate quality of food to be airdropped on Gaza. Buaijan appreciated the great Kuwaiti efforts made by the ministries of defense, foreign affairs and social affairs in supporting charitable and humanitarian societies towards supporting Palestinians, praising the role of the Jordanian side in facilitating the process of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. – KUNA
