KUWAIT: A Syrian man was arrested in Salmiya for multiple robberies and impersonating as a police detective, said security sources. Case papers indicate that several expats reported being robbed by someone dressed in a dishdasha, who stopped them claiming to be a police detective before he robbed them. One of the victims, a 57-year-old Asian running a laundry, reported that the suspect stopped him and asked for his ID, then pretended to check on him on his mobile phone and claimed he was wanted. The suspect asked the man to get in his vehicle, and on the way robbed KD 360 from his wallet, pushed him from the vehicle and threw the empty wallet out. The suspect is facing many charges.

Multiple charges

A citizen was arrested when he drove his vehicle undetected through Nuwaiseeb land border exit in an attempt to head to Saudi Arabia. Security sources said Saudi authorities stopped the suspect and returned him to Kuwait to face several charges including illegal departure, damaging public property, attempting to murder security agents and driving under the effect of alcohol.

Search for intruder

A female citizen reported that she was awakened in the middle of the night by noises in her bedroom, to see someone standing by her bed with a knife in his hand. The girl added that the unidentified suspect threatened to slit her throat if she made any noise, before he fled the house.
