Man arrested for processing illegal residency transactions

KUWAIT: Detectives arrested an Arab man who took  bribes from expatriates as he offered to transfer their residencies from family visas (article 22) to work visas (article 18), the Interior Ministry’s Relations and Security Information Department said yesterday.
After verifying information received about his activities, detectives moved in and arrested the suspect inside a company. He confessed to asking for KD 250 to process the illegal transaction. The case was sent to the public prosecution.

Hotel warned
Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) warned a hotel for violation of security and safety measures. The hotel’s officials were given a 72-hour ultimatum to meet the required preventive measures, otherwise the hotel will be closed. Separately. emergency teams of the Jahra municipality branch carried out a campaign recently, which resulted in issuing 18 citations and warnings in industrial Jahra, Erhaiya and Naseem.
