KUWAIT: A Kuwaiti man was arrested yesterday for issuing commercial licenses and collecting rents illegally. Investigations which led to the suspect's arrest came after Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, the Interior Ministry's Undersecretary Assistant for Citizenship and Passports Affairs, received information about a person who issued multiple commercial licenses on the same address, and ran them without practicing work.

He authorized Brigadier Saud Al-Khedr, Director of the General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations, to investigate the issue, and the suspect was summoned and confronted with evidence, the ministry's Relations and Security Media Department said. The man pleaded guilty during questioning, and was sent to the proper authorities to face charges.

Smuggling foiled
