Man charged with beating pregnant wife

KUWAIT: A bedoon woman accused her Kuwaiti husband of beating her badly in an attempt to make her miscarry, adding that he also attempted to do so by using drugs. The man was charged with beating with intention to abort. The woman was taken to the hospital by her family with various injuries in the face, eyes, abdomen and jaw. Jahra police was asked to arrest the husband to appear at the public prosecution.

Fugitives arrested
Jahra police arrested a citizen in his forties in the market area, wanted to serve a seven-year jail sentence for felony. Policemen on patrol noticed him getting nervous when he saw them and asked to hand over his ID. They found he is wanted, so he was taken to the police station for further action. Meanwhile, Capital police arrested an ex-convict in Salmiya, wanted over a KD 5,000 debt case and kidnapping. He was sent to criminal detectives.

Absconder caught
A citizen refused to present her ID to police, and was found to be absconding for three weeks. The citizen was roaming the streets of Salmiya late at night, and when police patrols approached her, she hid behind cars. When asked for her ID, she refused to hand it and insulted them. She was arrested and taken to Fintas police station.

Fights
A bedoon youth was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital after being stabbed in the chest during a fight in Sulaibiya. Police received a call, but when they arrived, they found out that a citizen has already taken the injured man to the hospital. Separately, two citizens beat a bedoon man and left him bloodied in a dispute over the sale of a car. The victim lodged a complaint at Sulaibiya police station. Police are investigating.

Swindler at large
A citizen accused a friend of swindling him out of KD 5,100 in a partnership to import goods from China. The citizen told Rehab police that his friend disappeared after receiving the money. – Al-Rai
