KUWAIT: A motorist was killed and another person was injured in an accident reported yesterday at Fahaheel Expressway. A sports car carrying the victims lost balance, crashed into a road sign and split in half from impact, according to eyewitnesses. Firefighters and paramedics headed to the scene yesterday evening in response to an emergency call reporting an accident at the highway near Al-Shaab. The driver, a 23-year-old Kuwaiti, was pronounced dead on the scene while his companion was rushed to the hospital. An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances behind the accident.

 

Home robbery

A security source said two homes in Ali Sabah Al-Salem (Um Al-Haiman) were broken into and gas cylinders, food supplies and electronic devices were stolen.

Neighbors' row

An Egyptian man asked his neighbor to turn down the sound of music, but the man attacked him verbally. The citizen was in his house late at night playing music, so his Egyptian neighbor told him to lower the volume because his children were not able to sleep. But the citizen did not oblige and became angry.

Fugitive caught

Hawally police arrested a female citizen wanted on 18 financial cases amounting to KD 65,000 and sentenced to one year in jail. The arrest was made in Salmiya as she attempted to escape. Meanwhile, Shuwaikh police sent a Syrian woman wanted for swindling to Adan detectives. The woman raised policemen's suspicions in Shuwaikh, so she was stopped and found wanted by Adan police.
