KUWAIT: An Egyptian killed his compatriot at a ready-mix concrete factory in Kabd yesterday morning. The suspect, 54, was arrested, a security source confirmed. The coroner's preliminary report indicated that the victim, 48, died as a result of multiple stab wounds in the chest area. A case was filed for investigations.

Swindler questioned

A Gulf national was questioned by criminal detectives due to his involvement in swindling people, Al-Rai reported yesterday. The suspect worked for the interior ministry and retired recently because of criminal acts. He tricked a number of expatriates into believing he can bring them to work in Kuwait and charged them money. It was found out most of those tricked are Syrians and Iraqis, as he contacted their relatives in Kuwait. The suspect was sent to criminal detectives by state security after determining that the crimes were felonies. His house was raided where seals indicated that he posed as an employee at an important facility, including one for a VIP, besides other transactions he was about to submit to the immigration department to get visas. Police also found a pistol and six rounds.

Ferdous fire

Firemen put out a fire reported in a Ferdous house yesterday. The fire started in the third floor of the building, and a citizen who suffered from burns was taken to hospital. A case was filed to investigate the cause of the fire.

Vehicles' auction

The traffic department will put impounded vehicles and motorcycles at the Ahmadi governorate impounding department on sale through an auction. The names of owners and license plates numbers were published in newspapers and they were asked to go to the vehicle sales committee. The auction will be will be on Wednesday, Feb 7, 2018. Those interested should go to the impoundment garage to inspect the vehicles.

 

Drug possession

Two citizens were arrested in Rehaya with drugs, red tube lights, light bulbs, and drug paraphernalia. The two persons were in an abnormal condition when they were asked to leave their car. Both were sent to the Drugs Control General Department. Separately, a citizen was stopped in Mahboula with drugs and drugs paraphernalia on him. He was sent to concerned authorities. Meanwhile, another citizen was arrested after he fled when he saw police and threw a box that contained a white substance suspected of being drugs. In Mubarak Al-Kabeer, a citizen was arrested for possession of a substances suspected to be drugs.
