KUWAIT: Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Badr Al-Essa yesterday expressed his ministry's keenness to use all technological means and e-learning methodology at schools in order to raise the educational system in the country. Al-Essa said in a statement to reporters on the sidelines of a Farwaniya educational directorate forum to display achievements of its strategy for the academic year (2015 -2016) that developed countries use technology due to the importance of keeping pace with global developments in the education domain. He said the Farwaniya educational directorate's strategy is consistent with the Ministry's educational development vision, reflecting educational directorates' commitment to the ministry's relevant policies. He explained that the use of tablets and iPads at schools came to develop and update the means of education in the country.

Sharjah Foundation

In another development, Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences has nominated President of the Kuwait Research and Studies Center Dr Abdullah Al-Ghunaim as a member of the foundation's Board of Trustees, which is headed by the emirate's ruler, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Al-Ghunaim told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday that the foundation, whose membership includes a number of Arab and Muslim scientists and researchers, contributes to the promotion of the efforts and contributions of Arabs and Muslims to contemporary science and humanity.

He added that the foundation, which is tasked with reviving the scientific and Islamic heritage, acts as a bridge for dialogue and communication and an arena for interaction between different cultures through conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions. He stated that the foundation promotes interest in researchers in the field of Arab and Islamic scientific heritage and care for those interested in doing research and publicize their activities, in addition to supporting them regionally and globally. He added that his nomination goes in line with his interests in the history of science at the Arabs which forms part of his scientific career. - Agencies
