Minister defends banning cash donations: ‘Helps deter intruders’

KUWAIT: Social Affairs and Labor Minister and State Minister for Planning and Development Hind Al-Subaih emphasized the importance of using technology in collecting donations “as it helps increase the support offered and makes it easy for donators to donate.”

It also makes it easier to supervise, be it by the foreign ministry with regards to donations abroad, or the interior ministry with regards to donations inside Kuwait,” the minister said.

“The social affairs ministry insists on using technology in collecting donations, and that is why it banned cash donations during Ramadan to be able to follow the donations and keep any intruders on humanitarian activities away to safeguard Kuwait’s reputation,” she added. — Al-Rai
