KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah inaugurated Thursday Al-Farwaniya Security Directorate's new building. Speaking to reporters during the opening ceremony, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled stated the new building comes within the framework of a series projects to revamp security facilities nationwide.

The recent security developments require readiness and vigilance to ensure the safety of the nation, he said, stressing the importance of reinforcing initiative-taking behavior among security personnel and training them on taking charge of security actions to enable them to face challenges with high efficiency, he said.

The Kuwaiti political leadership strongly backs the security institution's efforts to retain the country and people's security, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled affirmed. The supreme leadership's support has enabled security men to attain a number of goals during the past period in various fields, he said, noting that these security achievements have gained the appreciation and respect of the Kuwaiti people.

Meanwhile, the minister praised the plans and measures taken by security bodies for the upcoming parliamentary elections, pointing out Kuwaiti security institutions' experience and efficiency in dealing with such an event. He also expressed his hope that this years' election meets people's aspirations, and that the ministry achieves its goal of serving the Kuwaiti people and preserve their safety and security during the electoral process. - KUNA
