ShareKUWAIT: An informed security source said Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah expressed disappointment over statistics issued by the research and studies center which revealed that security departments recorded 12,000 cases out of 32,000 cases against unidentified perpetrators in 2014, which is equal to 48 percent of the total cases.
The source said Sheikh Mohammad asked security sectors to determine the reasons for the rise in crimes registered against unidentified perpetrators, and not arresting the suspects.
The source said the minister received an answer on the reason why crimes against unidentified perpetrators are on the rise, saying there are many crimes of lesser importance registered against unknowns that do not affect the security situation, and some of them are related to private disputes or regarding financial issues, but as for important cases, stats show that the arrest percentage is on the rise.
The source said investigations is some thefts registered against unidentified perpetrators shows victims’ negligence, as they behave in a way that encourages thieves to commit crimes, by leaving things such as wallets or mobile phones in the car that are visible, or leaving the car running while going into a store.
The source said the majority of those arrested are juveniles, unemployed people, exconvicts and drugs addicts who usually commit robberies to get money to buy their daily needs. —Al-Qabas
