KUWAIT: The government sent 35 proposed laws with regards to approving the final accounts of ministries and government departments for the year 2016/2017. The report said ministries’ income reached KD 13.9 billion, while expenses were KD 17.7 billion. The report indicated that the actual budget deficit reached KD 5.9 billion.
A Health Ministry report said 450 dentists joined scholarships – 40 percent of the total number of Kuwaiti dentists – during the period from 2000 until 2016, while 270 scholarship dentists joined work at specialized centers after receiving their post-graduation certificates. The report said MoH expanded its scholarship program by considering new international universities in Sweden, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and South Africa.
Head of Kuwait Pilgrimage Mission and Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Coordination, Foreign Relations and Hajj at Awqaf Ministry Khalaif Al-Athaine said hajj permissions for Kuwait pilgrims are being issued so they can go to Saudi Arabia. He said the permissions will be on special papers that cannot be forged.
Eight new reservoirs
“Your Oil and Gas News” site said Australia’s SRG has won a contract with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company to present specialized construction services related to building eight new reservoirs for liquefied natural gas in Kuwait.
