Elections

Participants at a seminar organized by Hmak e-paper strongly criticized political blocs that recently declared their intention to take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections after they had boycotted previous elections in protest of the one-vote electoral system. Participants urged them to officially apologize to those who took part in the elections by voting and running for the elections, whom they had described as 'traitors.' Participants also urged these political blocs to justify changing their minds now after 27 former MPs of the so-called 'majority bloc' had declared a boycott. Headed by its editor-in-chief, lawyer Mubarak Al-Mutawwa,' Hmak held its monthly seminar under the title 'Kuwait Democracy between Participation and Boycotting'. Speakers at the seminar included journalist Mohammed Abdul Aziz, former minister Ahmed Baqer and former MPs Osama Al-Tahous and Duaij Al-Shemmari.
