Founded by Huawei, a pioneer in the field of telecommunications technology, the Open ROADS community stands for “real-time on-demand all-online do-it-yourself and social,” an invitation to the digital world to all companies in the telecom and related industries. It brings together leading voices from across the information and communication technology industry to answer the questions posed by the transformation to digital business. Among the attendees of the London summit are some of the industry’s biggest names, such as Google, GSMA and Vodafone.

Commenting on attending this event, Ooredoo Kuwait CEO and General Manager Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani said: “I’m proud to be part of this event with global industry key players. This stems from our core values at Ooredoo: caring, connecting and challenging. We are always striving to stay up to date with the latest in the field of telecommunications technology, and taking part in an event like this with such esteemed speakers is a great opportunity.”

The event included workshops, presentations and roundtable discussions in which speakers from various fields related to telecom technology highlighted the importance of adapting the latest trends, with a focus on digital and cloud-based businesses. Speakers noted the importance of adapting such technologies to stay up to date with consumers’ needs, as that is where the future is heading. Speakers also highlighted the key role played by small and medium enterprises, especially when it comes to programming, coding, and developing services that operate digitally and on the cloud. Such services can be of great benefit to various sectors such as transportation, energy, government entities, and trade.

Open ROADS community holds events regularly throughout the year in different cities to discuss the latest updates and trends related to the telecommunications industry.
