KUWAIT: Following up the case of the Lebanese who beat her mother to death in Kaifan, security sources said that an Indian car washer and the coroner's report proved that the suspect assaulted her mother at 7 pm and waited for three hours before she reported the matter to the police. The sources added that on taking the suspect to the crime scene, the car washer blamed her for waiting for three hours before reporting the incident. He explained that she called him at 7 pm telling him that her mother was sick and needed to go to the hospital, but he could not help her and asked her to call an ambulance. Confronted by this, the suspect confirmed the testimony.

Eid emergencies

The medical emergencies department reported that it dealt with 1,515 cases during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, of which 1,166 were taken to nearby hospitals and clinics, 29 were medivacked and 349 were treated onsite. The department added that the cases involved injuries resulting from traffic accidents, fights and minor burns.

Strange bruises

A Syrian filed a report at Salmiya police station reporting finding strange bruises on the right side of his dead 51-year-old brother's body at Mubarak Hospital. However, hospital reports indicated that the man arrived already dead with the bruises. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Nugra diamond heist

A citizen reported that after returning to his apartment in Nugra from a family visit, he found that the door had been broken and jewelry worth KD 8,000 was stolen. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Wrong cool-aid

An Asian housemaid was rushed to Jahra Hospital for treatment after she drank cleaning liquid in an attempt to take her life, said security sources. Case papers indicate that the sponsor's wife found the maid unconscious and immediately made her husband drive her to the hospital, where she underwent a gastric lavage procedure.
