KUWAIT: Municipality Deputy Director General for Hawally and Ahmadi Affairs and Chairman of Temporary Slaughter Houses Committee Engr Fahad Dughaim Al-Otaibi headed a preliminary meeting to make preparations for temporary slaughter houses in governorates for the Eid Al-Adha. Branch directors also attended the meeting. Al-Otaibi said the idea of having temporary slaughter houses is to make it easier for citizens - and to reduce the burden on the main slaughter houses. Al-Otaibi said the Municipality provides one veterinarian for each temporary slaughter house, 20 containers for each house and special compressors for leftovers. The Municipality will take them from tankers. It also provides cleaners, and provides butchers with temporary health cards after making sure they are free of any diseases.

Civil Service Commission slammed

Municipal Council Member and Farwaniya Governorate Committee Chairman Nayef Al-Sour has criticized the Civil Service Commission for causing delays in appointing Kuwaiti citizens in the Municipality - claiming there are no vacancies for more than five months now. Al-Sour said the young Kuwaitis waited for many years to complete their studies - only to be disappointed. Meanwhile, Municipality Director General Engr Ahmad Al-Manfouhi said there are 130 job opportunities for youths who graduated this month in various specialties. He said Kuwait Municipality's strategy is to have new blood so as to enhance performance. Vacancies include engineering and technical jobs. Municipality launched its account on twitter and instagram (@Kuwmun) in order to increase the scope of communications between Municipality and the citizens. Public Relations Director said that the account is aimed at linking the citizens, expats and media.
