Municipality requests hiring more non-Kuwaiti employees

KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality recently extended the tenures of 248 non-Kuwaiti employees working for monthly payments on interim basis for a further year effective from April. The municipality also requested appointing six others in various jobs, but the decision was deferred. Notably, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) had set four conditions for hiring bedoons - holding Central Apparatus for Illegal residents cards, being already listed with CSC, having enough funds and being younger than 65.

Power consumption

Minister of Electricity and Water Essam Al-Marzouq said that the ministry is currently working on setting incentives for consumers in private residences for rationalizing their power consumption. He said the new electricity tariffs would be applied in the commercial sector from May 22 and stressed that unpaid bills before this date would be according to the old charges.
