KUWAIT: As part of celebrating 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the State of Kuwait, the Embassy of Nepal in association with the Nepali Community in Kuwait has organized a Blood Donation Drive at the Central Blood Bank, Jabriya on 25 March 2022. The Embassy officials and a considerable number of Nepali nationals residing in Kuwait donated blood on that occasion.

Ambassador of Nepal to Kuwait Durga Prasad Bhandari, Dr Abdulrahman Al- Mutairi, Assistant Under Secretary for Technical Affairs, Dr Reem  Al Radwan, Director, Blood Transfusion Administration Services, Ministry of Health; and Saleh Al Saraawi, Counselor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait government launched the program by cutting a ribbon  amidst a brief ceremony at the Central Blood Bank which was attended by donors, officials at the Central Blood Bank and a number of Nepali community members.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Ambassador Bhandari spoke about Nepal-Kuwait relationship since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1972 which he said have been cordial and friendly and added that the bilateral relations between the two countries are based on friendship, cooperation and understanding. He added that in 2022, the relationship has reached the important milestone of the 50th year of its formalization. He said that relationship between Nepal and the State of Kuwait has been growing in diverse fields.

The Ambassador congratulated the donors-the Nepali community members, for their encouraging participation to donate blood and added that such humanitarian services would help to save the lives of the needy people. He said that donating blood is one of the precious gifts to anyone who truly need it and termed it as a selfless act.  He added that the Nepali nationals working in Kuwait have been helping significantly in providing added momentum to the ties between the two countries and peoples.

He extended sincere thanks to the authorities of Kuwait particularly the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for providing the opportunity to organize the Blood Donation Drive and also for their participation on the occasion. He extended special thanks to the Central Blood Bank Authorities especially to its Director Dr Reem Al Radwan and all other officials who had provided all necessary services and support to organize the program.
