KUWAIT: Head of Sabah Al-Ahmad cardiac diseases center at Amiri Hospital Dr Mohammad Al-Jarallah announced launching a new clinic to follow up patients with high levels of cholesterol.

Jarallah explained that the new clinic will be responsible for educating patients vulnerable to high fat levels, prescribing the right medicine for them and creating a database with their information to be able to prevent this chronic disease.

Further, Jarallah stressed that cardiac diseases have become the prime cause of death in both Kuwait and worldwide, adding that one of the major reasons leading to cardiac diseases is high fat levels. Dr Ahmad Al-Sarraf explained that high fat levels can be hereditary or caused by other factors such as diabetes, hypothyroidism and liver and kidney diseases.
