Maj Gen Mazen Al-Jarrah

KUWAIT: Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality and Passports Affairs Maj Gen Mazen Al-Jarrah said that due to increased demands by citizens over the status of domestic helpers who absconded from their sponsors and wish to benefit from the amnesty without leaving the country, they can do so after paying the due fines with a condition that they can only transfer their residencies after a year.

Separately, the Manpower Public Authority's Deputy Director for Labor Protection Abdullah Al-Motoutah said that the authority has set up a mobile office to receive complaints by laborers working in remote areas who cannot reach the authority's departments easily.

Motoutah added that the mobile center is equipped with various administrative and regulatory needs to provide easy and swift service. He said the center is currently manned by a special emergency team including investigators and inspectors working in collaboration with the Humanitarian Foundation for Legal Aid that has provided volunteer translators and lawyers.
