KUWAIT: A Filipina suffocated and died inside an elevator after it crashed while she was moving her furniture inside a Salmiya building. All attempts to get her out of the elevator failed. The building's haris (janitor) called police and told them a new tenant was stuck in the elevator, but they found her dead when they arrived.

 

The body was recovered by the coroner. Preliminary investigations indicated that the elevator malfunctioned due to overweight as the woman was using it to move heavy furniture. Further investigations are ongoing.

 

Woman ran over by harasser

 

A Kuwaiti woman sustained injuries after she was ran over by a man she had rejected. The man kept chasing and harassing the girl while she was driving, but she ignored him. Eventually, the woman pulled her car over, and the man approached her and started a fight with her because of her rejections. After that, the man ran the woman over after she stepped outside of her vehicle, then escaped leaving her in pain. Police took the girl to hospital and were able to arrest the harasser who faces legal action.

 

Revenge

 

A citizen torched her ex-husband's house in revenge and damaged his car before disappearing, according to the man's statements to police. The husband called police for help, but she had already left when they arrived. He lodged a complaint against her and police are investigating.

 

Kidnap and assault

 

A Syrian was kidnapped, beaten then forced to sign blank promissory notes by three of his compatriots. The three blind folded him and took turns to beat him in an isolated area, then took him to an apartment in Salmiya and released him after he signed the notes.

 

The victim told Nugra police that he does not know the attackers, but suspected several other people who may sent the three. Detectives are investigating. - Translated from the Arabic press
