KUWAIT: A search is on for a woman who dumped a newborn baby inside a Farwaniya Hospital toilet a few hours after its birth. Security sources said there is no information about the mother or the person who dropped her at the hospital.

Fatal accident

A bedoon was arrested for running over and killing a 24-year-old Canadian woman along Gulf Road, said security sources.

Phone hacked

A female citizen filed a complaint accusing an unidentified person of hacking her mobile phone, stealing its contents and threatening to post it on social media unless she paid him KD 5,000, said security sources. The girl explained that she received a call from the suspect who apologized, claiming he called her by mistake, before he called her again to blackmail her after sending a sample of the photos she had on her mobile. Arranging with detectives, the girl pretended to yield to the caller's demands, and he was arrested red-handed on receiving the money.

Car theft

A citizen was arrested in Farwaniya for allegedly breaking into and stealing the contents of 13 vehicles. Security sources noted that the suspect was arrested with a bag full of tools he used in smashing the vehicles' windows.

Traffic violations

Farwaniya traffic police filed 84 tickets to non-disabled motorists parking their cars in disabled parking spaces, said security sources, noting that the forces also removed their license plates to prevent violators from driving their vehicles.

Absconders caught

Four Asian maids who had been reported absconding were arrested working in a cafe, said security sources, adding that the suspects were referred to relevant authorities pending deportation. Meanwhile, a Pakistani wanted for a KD 1,000 financial claim was arrested in Farwaniya.

Dog bite

A citizen sustained a deep wound in his right hand when a dog he was examining for purchase bit him in Mishref, said security sources, adding that the man was rushed to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.

Motorists fight

Two citizens were arrested for fighting after a traffic accident along Fifth Ring Road. They were taken to the proper authorities for further action.

Smuggling foiled

An Asian was arrested on arrival at the airport with 2 kg of heroin he hid in a secret layer inside his bag. Security sources said the man looked nervous and was sweating, which made customs inspectors search his luggage.

Fake doctors caught

Three Asians were arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyiukh for illegally practicing medicine. Security sources said the suspects put an ad on Instagram offering plastic surgery at 'competitive' prices. - Al-Rai and Al-Anbaa
