KUWAIT: Official sources at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MSAL) said that the ministry was currently considering three options to collect charity donations during the next Holy month of Ramadan including POS (K-net), bank deduction and online e-transfers.

The sources added that all charities had been informed that all forms of cash donations would be banned in this year’s Ramadan, which means there would be no receipts. In addition, the sources explained that MSAL inspection teams were ready to start working with the first day of the holy month, adding that MSAL has already coordinated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to ban cash donation collection in various mosques. The sources also explained that MSAL’s permission and approval would be conditioned before organizing any charity sale. — Al-Anbaa
