KUWAIT: Judges at the justice ministry's verdict execution department rejected pleas by local companies to summon or impose travel bans on Kuwaitis indebted to them with small amounts ranging between KD 100 and 200, which had been causing them embarrassment at the airport for years. A well-informed source said the cancellation has been in effect for two weeks now, as judges believe that Kuwaitis will not flee the country to avoid paying such small amounts. The sources added that local companies' representatives met the department inquiring about rejecting their travel ban requests and were told that the rejection was made on purely legal grounds, taking into consideration that travel bans and summon warrants are restrictive and exceptional measures that should not be overused to avoid violating individual freedoms without due cause. -Al-Qabas
