KUWAIT: A policeman suffered a broken foot when a driverless car struck him in Um Al-Haiman. The car owner was later arrested after he escaped from traffic police, leaving the car's transmission in neutral. A security source explained that while a squad car was passing through the area, a car whose driver committed several traffic violations was noticed. But the driver did not heed orders to stop and drove off instead. He then stopped in front of his house and disappeared, leaving his car running. While the policeman was checking the car, it started rolling and broke his foot. Detectives later arrested the suspect and sent him to concerned authorities. Interior Ministry's Undersecretary Lt Gen Mahmoud Al-Dousary visited the injured officer at Adan Hospital yesterday to check on his condition.
