KUWAIT: A fireman uses a ladder to rescue a person from a house where a fire was reported in Salwa.

KUWAIT: One person was killed, while firemen rescued 20 people from a fire that broke out in a three-storey house in Salwa. South Salmiya, Mishref and technical rescue responded to fight the blaze. Six persons were treated onsite by paramedics, while others were taken to hospital.

 

Sulaibiya murder suspect arrested

 

Criminal detectives unraveled the circumstances of a murder that took place in Sulaibiya, during which a bedoon (stateless) man was killed. The crime took place on Oct 5, when a call about a shooting was received by police, who responded and found a man dead from bullet wounds. Police found the murderer's vehicle in Firdous and the murder weapon in it. The suspect, a citizen, was arrested in a Salmi camp.

 

Accident

 

A citizen was killed when his vehicle flipped over in Bayan. Salmiya firemen rushed to the area and discovered the driver was dead. The body was handed to police to be sent to the forensics department.

 

Campaign

 

Acting Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Maj Gen Fahd Al-Shuwaei supervised a campaign around Kuwait, resulting in issuing 2,928 citations, 132 vehicles were impounded, 55 people were detained while two were sent to the Drugs Control General Department.

 

Absconding

 

Hawally police arrested an Arab woman reported absconding - they also found 17 illicit tablets on her. Meanwhile, Ahmadi police arrested a girl in Abu Halifa after she became nervous when she saw police and was found to be under the influence of drugs. The girl had a hashish joint as well as two bags of chemical.

 

The girl was found wanted on several theft cases, as well as a KD 2,500 debt. Meanwhile, Farwaniya police arrested a European woman who was with a citizen and both were in intoxicated. Both had seven Laryca tablets. Police arrested a citizen in Bayan with a hashish joint, three tablets and KD 247. All those arrested were sent to concerned authorities.

 

Fights

 

An Egyptian man was beaten by a Palestinian man in Sabah Al-Ahmad residential area due to work differences. The victim went to the hospital, brought a medical report and lodged a complaint against the offender. Meanwhile, an Egyptian man was beaten by a driver of a black vehicle in Mahboula. The man lodged a complaint at Riqqa police station and gave them the license plate number of the car. Separately, two citizens who work at Shuaiba power station had a fight and exchanged blows, before being separated by colleagues. Both went to Shuaiba police station and a case was recorded.

 

Custody

 

A woman lost custody of her children for "torturing" them along with her boyfriend. The criminal court sentenced the woman and her friend to five years in jail for tormenting the children with a knife and nail clipper. The woman's mother went to the family court to take custody of the children and was granted the request in the interest of the children.

 

Threats

 

An Egyptian family lived through moments of horror in Ishbelia after a citizen, under the influence of drugs, threatened to kill himself, then got hysterical and set fire to their apartment. A woman and her daughter suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital. The suspect was taken to the police station.

 

Theft

 

An Egyptian man told Fahaheel police that electric cables were stolen from Maqwa worth KD 900. Detectives are working on the case.
