KUWAIT: Ooredoo, Kuwait’s fastest network, kicked off its third Ooredoo Cup football tournament last week in Hassan Abul Sports Center in Dasma. The tournament will be ongoing for a week, in a friendly environment away from the office life. This comes in alignment with Ooredoo’s core values of caring, connecting and challenging, and the company’s philosophy of investing in its employees who are the cornerstone of the establishment.

The tournament includes 16 teams from the company’s different departments, with players from across the organization including the company’s CEO Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, in addition to heads of other departments and units. The tournament also includes players working in Ooredoo’s head office from other organizations, such as Huawei, FASTtelco, Phono, as well as the security officers in the building.

Commenting on this event, Ooredoo’s Corporate Communications Director Mijbil Alayoub said: “We’re happy to organize this event for the third consecutive year here in Ooredoo Kuwait. The tournament aims to fortify the brotherly relationship between Ooredoo staff across the organization, and is an embodiment of our core values of caring and connecting.” He added that the tournament is a great opportunity for employees to interact with the company’s upper management in a friendly setting, and a chance for employees to enjoy a friendly atmosphere with their families. He noted that the games include a number of awards for best player voted by the audience, in addition to best supporter. The event comes as part of Ooredoo’s year-long plan of internal activities, aiming to engage employees and entertain them.
