KUWAIT: Ooredoo Kuwait's announced that it was the platinum sponsor of the West Gulf Race, which took place last Saturday at the Scientific Center, and is considered to be the most important race in Kuwait. The sponsorship comes as a reflection of Ooredoo's strategy in enabling youth and supporting them in reaching their potential. The West Gulf Race is considered to be an important race that aims to challenge participants and raise health and fitness awareness and to create a new sports culture built on ethics, discipline, and sportsmanship. During the final ceremony, the winning participants were inaugurated and were awarded with valuable prizes based on their ranks in the race. More than 2000 participants from different nationalities took part in the West Gulf Race which where segmented into the family race, men and women below 16 years of age, and the 10 kilometer race.

Ooredoo Corporate Communication Senior Director Mijbil Al-Ayoub awarded the winners during the ceremony. Al-Ayoub noted that Ooredoo and the West Gulf Race both believe in enabling youth and supporting them in reaching their potential, which is one of the biggest pillars of the company's CSR strategy. He said, "This sponsorship comes in tandem with our belief in supporting youth initiatives and athletes in Kuwait, and we continuously offer our full support for youth and aspirations". It is considerable to mention that Ooredoo recently sponsored the Flying Start Triathlon and currently sponsors and supports several young Kuwaiti athletes who are the company's brand ambassadors such as Abdulaziz Al-Rashed, Najlaa Al-Jeraiwi, and Rakan Al-Hassawi.
