KUWAIT CITY: Ooredoo Kuwait announced that it has successfully tested the eSIM and is the first to accomplish this as a telecom operator in the country. Ooredoo Kuwait's Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani said, "Ooredoo believes in offering and investing in the best services for the Kuwaiti society, which makes us a leading telecommunications operator."

"The eSIM technology will enable our customers to seamlessly switch between personal and business accounts, enjoy data like never before and take advantage of our voice services on our network," Al Thani added. The eSIMs are embedded SIMs that will enable Ooredoo to offer a fully digitized user experience without having to insert the normal SIM card in the smart device. This is directly aligned with Ooredoo's digital strategy which is to empower Kuwait's society by driving digital transformation and enrich people's digital lives.

It is worth mentioning that with this advanced technology and alongside our 5G roll-out, customers will be able to switch between their private and business numbers in a single phone without the need to physically swap sim cards. eSIM will also be crucial for the 'Internet of Things'. Without the need for a physical SIM card, many devices, such as watches and other wearables, can be connected to the mobile network, completely transforming the digital experience at home or at the office.
