KUWAIT: The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, announced the addition of an early detection service for breast cancer for women through the unified government application (Sahel) as part of the ongoing efforts of the digital transformation of health services to facilitate citizens.

Dr Al-Sanad said in a press statement that this service came under the directives of the Minister of Health, Dr Ahmad Al-Awadi, and in cooperation between several sectors and departments in the Ministry of Health. This comes within the framework of the national program for early detection of breast diseases, which provides high-quality services for screening at the early stage.

The service targets women - encouraging them to participate in regular screening by booking a mammogram appointment. The service provides the option to select the most convenient appointment and center via the application. He said that the examination is provided to Kuwaiti citizens within the age group of 40 years and above.

Dr. Al-Sanad said the Ministry has allocated five primary health care centers: Al-Egaila Health Center in Al-Ahmadi health area; Al-Zahra Health Center in Mubarak Al-Kabeer health area; Al-Naeem Health Center in Jahra health area; Khaitan South Health from Farwaniya health area; Shaikhan Al-Farsi and Sharifa Al-Awadi health in Al-Surah area.

He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Health to continue strengthening the capabilities of the health sector in the digital field in order to achieve the objectives of the Ministry’s plan and the Vision (New Kuwait 2035), praising the efforts of workers in the digital health sector and medical cadres for their keenness to raise the quality of health services. — KUNA
