KUWAIT: President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Eng Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi congratulated all the winners of the 8th Asian Shotgun and 11th Airgun championships. Al-Otaibi spoke following the conclusion of the tournament and said that Kuwait's outstanding performance coming top in the skeet and trap events as well as the double trap, is an evidence of the continued success of the shooting sport. He also lauded the board of directors, workers and shooters of the Kuwait shooting sport club. Al-Otaibi thanked His Highness the Amir, HH the Crown Prince and all government departments who contributed to the success of the championships in which more than 600 shooters representing 35 Asian countries participated.

He also commended the work of the emergency teams that took care of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex ranges, keeping competitions going on without a delay during the heavy rains last weekend. He also thanked championships patron Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and President of Asian Shooting Federation Sheikh Ali Al Khalifa.

Al-Otaibi said that the Kuwait shooters proved they are still on top of their game in Asia, despite the fierce competition they have faced from China. Al-Otaibi also lauded the performance of Kuwait juniors in the shotgun competitions, showcasing the bright future of the sport in the country. Kuwait skeet and trap teams won two gold medals, the first team had Mansour Al-Rashidi, Abdallah Al-Torqi and Saud Habeeb, and the second team had Abdelrahman Al-Fuaihan, Khalid Al-Mudhaf and Talal Al-Rashidi. Saad Al-Mutairi won the double trap gold medal and Ahmad Al-Afasi won silver. Sarah Al-Hawal won the individual's silver.
