KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training is organizing a forum titled "Cybersecurity ... Challenges and Solutions" in cooperation with the Gulf University for Science and Technology, the authority announced Sunday. The two-day forum will be held at the authority's headquarters on Feb 15-16 under the sponsorship of Education Minister Dr Hamad Al-Adwani. The forum is also sponsored by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority and the Kuwait branch of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Fidaa Al-Shahwan, head of the technological engineering department at the authority, said the forum aims to enhance the role of the culture of cybersecurity in line with the speed of technological development. She added that the forum intends to engage and encourage those interested in learning about the latest technological advances in the field of cybersecurity and provide them with the skills needed to achieve the New Kuwait 2035 vision.

"The forum will shed light on the latest cybersecurity threats related to systems and processes. The forum will also include panel discussions and workshops presented by cybersecurity specialists in order to clarify how to benefit from the resources and assistance programs available in various disciplines and dedicated to providing protection in different work environments," said Shahwan.

"The forum will be accompanied by a technology and information security exhibit, in which sponsors, government institutions and private companies will participate. A student competition will also be organized on the sidelines of the forum where students can present their projects and innovations in the field of technology and cybersecurity and showcase technological solutions for issues in the field," she explained.
