KUWAIT: Pakistan's Ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Islam Khan asserted yesterday his country's keenness to strengthen economic relations with Kuwait. In a statement to KUNA after inaugurating a Pakistani commercial exhibition in the country, Khan said that bilateral relations with Kuwait have stood the test of time, with both sides striving to enhance cooperation in various economic fields.

Khan also disclosed that a number of Kuwaiti businessmen had recently visited Pakistan in order to explore the country's industrial potential. The Pakistani ambassador revealed that the embassy is introducing various initiatives aimed at bolstering relations with Kuwait. Amongst those initiatives is a Pakistani exhibition to be held in Kuwait next year with a view to promoting Pakistani products in the Kuwaiti market.

Moreover, Khan said that a memorandum has been signed between the two countries that would help facilitate further cooperation in numerous economic fields. Kuwait and Pakistan have long enjoyed amicable relations which are deep-rooted in religion and history. - KUNA
