KUWAIT: Singaporean President Halimah Yacob opened the International Labor Organization's 17th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting, which is attended by the Kuwaiti government represented by ministries, businessmen and workers. "The scheduled agenda for the meeting includes a number of subjects which will be discussed. Most important is a framework for supporting transitions towards formalization and decent work, which focuses on the legal frameworks and labor market institutions necessary for the transition to formal employment that supports labor mobility and provides for improved labor migration governance and protection of migrant workers," Public Authority of Manpower's Dr Abdullah Al-Rashidi said.

"Moreover, we aim to strengthening multilateral cooperation to achieve productive employment and decent work for all, and discuss multilateral measures to support the eighth goal of sustainable development and strengthen the resilience of the labor market and promote decent work in the Asia-Pacific region and Arab states region," he added. The meeting will continue until Dec 9, 2022.

KUWAIT: Workshop at GUST organized by PAM.

Meanwhile, PAM organized on Tuesday a workshop in Kuwait titled 'Towards exceptional future employment' for those who are looking for jobs in the private sector, hosted by Gulf University for Science and Technology. "The workshops targeted new graduates and those awaiting employment in the private sector with the aim to support and prepare young Kuwaitis to participate in the workforce and encourage working in the private sector, as well as to reduce unemployment," PAM said in a statement.

"The workshop's priorities include making the targeted group more aware about the importance of working in the private sector and showcase its benefits by guiding their professional path to prepare them based on their specializations and requirements," the statement added. "The workshop included a presentation that explains the private sector and its benefit, as well as to guide applicants on how to prepare for job interviews, learn the most important tips to clear them, prepare a CV and how to deal with the work environment to guarantee career success," the statement explained.
