The Real Fouz

Winding down and relaxing after a long tiring day is something we all enjoy doing and it's one of my favorite ways to feel fresh and relaxed with my busy schedule. I'll be sharing with you how I have an "at home" spa/pamper night as well as sharing my favorite DIY recipes, and I encourage all you ladies to make this a part of your weekly routine!

I always start by setting the relaxing mood by lighting a candle, my favorite one is by Organique. It smells amazing and you can use the candle wax as a body oil too! Another thing I like to do is play some relaxing spa music, which makes the whole process so much more enjoyable and relaxing. I make myself a cup of green tea, refreshing smoothie, or fruit infused water and put on my favorite fuzzy robe and start with my routine.

The first step is to remove all of your make up and cleanse your face thoroughly with your favorite cleanser. I then use my favorite facemask and massage some pure coconut oil into my hair as a hair mask. I love making my own at home masks and I will share my favorite recipes at the end of this article. I even make my own under eye treatment, which works wonders. Another thing I love to do is a foot soak. Having tiring days and constantly wearing heels can put a lot of strain and stress on your feet so doing this can make you feel so much better. I then finish with a lip scrub and use a mixture of organic yogurt and honey as a lip treatment to hydrate and soften my lips.

Brightening tumeric and lemon face mask

Ingredients:

3 tbsp of rolled oats (ground into oat flour in food processer)

1 tbsp of manuka honey

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric

a squeeze of lemon juice

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and apply to your face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off gently with warm water.

Soothing cucumber eye gel

Ingredients:

5-8 tbsp of aloe vera gel

1/2 cucumber, cut into cubes

Preparation:

Blend the cucumber with a blender or food processer until liquid. Strain the juice of the cucumber through a sieve and set aside. Mix 2 tbsp of cucumber juice with the aloe vera gel and whisk it until it forms into a thick gel like consistency. Apply under your eyes before bed. (this mixture will last you 6 weeks)

DIY foot soak

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup of any mouthwash

- 1/2 cup of vinegar

* 1 cup of warm water

Preparation:

Mix them into an appropriate sized container and soak your feet for 15 mins.

DIY lip scrub

Mix a tablespoon of brown sugar with just enough honey (or olive oil) to get it to stick together. Rub the scrub onto your lips enough to loosen the dead skin. Let it sit for 1 minute, and then wipe off with a damp towel.

Hope you girls enjoy pampering yourselves! We all deserve it!
