KUWAIT: Carrying out plastic surgeries required professional and talented hands which would make sure that these procedures would not end in disaster, said a Health Ministry official yesterday. During the opening of the three-day Plastic surgery exhibition at Avenues Mall, organized by the Health Ministry and a number of private sector companies, Assistant Undersecretary for the ministry Dr Mahmoud Abulhadi said the exhibition will provide an opportunity for clients to browse through professional companies providing plastic surgery options.

He noted that companies partaking in the event were approved by the ministry, affirming that these entities were up to standards set by health authorities in the country. On his part, head of the exhibition's organizing committee Amr Ahmad affirmed that the event had witnessed the participation of world class Plastic surgeons, stressing that visitors eager to perform any sort of procedure will be advised on whether they needed surgery or not. Physicians from other medical fields will be attending the exhibition to provide free of charge medical advice, said Ahmad.

Obstetrics, Gynecology conference

In another development Under the 20th Obstetrics and Gynecology conference was held yesterday under the auspices of Health Minister Dr Ali Al-Obaidi. Representing the minister at the event, Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization's (KIMS) Secretary Dr Ibrahim Hadi said that Kuwait was keen on holding such conferences to develop specialized medicine in the country. Several obstetrics and gynecology researches and studies will be featured during course of the conference attended by local and international medical experts, said the official who affirmed that KIMS was keen on supporting such events.

On his part, the conference chairman and head of gynecology at Al-Adan Hospital Dr. Jassem Al-Hajji said that the event was attended by 12 world renowned medical experts in addition to local physicians. Dr Al-Jassem affirmed that medical care within these two fields was highly develop in Kuwait, adding that the conference would more to the strong medical infrastructure within obstetrics and gynecology. - Agencies
