Police arrest fugitive wanted to serve 117.5 years in jail

KUWAIT: Police arrested a fugitive wanted to serve jail sentences totaling 117.5 years. The arrest was made under the supervision of Hawally governorate security director Brigadier Abdeen Al-Abdeen. Patrol officers stopped a taxi in Salwa, then when police asked for the ID of the person inside, he attempted to escape on foot, but was caught quickly. He was found wanted for four cases:

* A felony case for which he was sentenced to 99 years in jail.
* A felony case for which he was sentenced for 10 years.
* A felony case for which he was sentenced to five years.
* A felony case for which he was sentenced for 3.5 years.
The man was sent to concerned authorities for further action.

Food inspection campaigns
Kuwait Municipality’s Jahra governorate branch carried out several inspection campaigns on restaurants and food stores to make sure about the compliance with municipality rules and regulations. A total of 14 citations were issued during the crackdown. Director of inspection and municipality services follow up in Jahra Mohammad Al-Shimmari said tests on 100 samples collected from markets were OK.
