KUWAIT: Ahmadi detectives yesterday raided a brothel in Mahboula that served senior citizens only, and arrested one man and three women inside. Detectives obtained a warrant from the public prosecution to raid the apartment after monitoring it for a week based on information that illegal activities were taking place there. Investigations had revealed that CCTV cameras were placed outside the apartment's door and building's entrance in order to detect police's activity. Furthermore, the investigations indicated that the brothel only welcomed senior citizens six days a week except Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The raid happened after a senior citizen that detectives sent under cover gave his signal. Police arrested a Kuwaiti man and three women, two Sri Lankan and one from Madagascar, inside the apartment. Furthermore, they found KD 49 in cash paid by two people who had left the apartment before the raid happened. The detainees were sent to the proper authorities for further action.

Man hurt in accident

A motorist was injured in a collision reported at the Fahaheel Highway yesterday. Firefighters arrived to the scene shortly after the accident was reported, and they helped free the man who was trapped inside his vehicle. Paramedics transported the driver to the nearest medical facility.

House fire

Firefighters tackled a blaze that was reported at a house in Subahiya yesterday. No injuries were reported in the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire started inside a tent set up at the house's yard. Further investigations are ongoing to reveal the exact cause of the fire.

Hawally campaign

Kuwait Municipality's Hawally branch carried out an inspection campaign at restaurants and cafés in Salmiya and Hawally yesterday. A total of 36 tickets were issued for violations that include failure to produce valid health certificates for workers, and failure to adhere to general sanitation conditions.
