KUWAIT: Farwaniya detectives arrested four citizens for drug trafficking, said security sources, noting that one of the suspects was a policeman and one of the buyers was a police cadet. Case papers indicate that narcotics detectives had been tipped off concerning the suspects' activities and that they were ambushed and arrested red-handed in Ardiya with 140 illicit pills.

Separately, a four-member gang was arrested for drug trafficking, said security sources. Case papers indicate that narcotics deceives were tipped off concerning a female citizen trading in drugs, and on raiding her house, a male illegal resident was arrested with a huge amount of meth. They admitted that they possessed the drugs to trade in them. They also said they procured the drugs from another female citizen and her Filipina maid, who were also arrested. On searching the suppliers' house, detectives found 2 kg of hashish, 200 gm of heroin, 50 gm of marijuana, two bags of ice, 200 illicit pills and 25 imported liquor bottles. In addition, detectives said that they found a huge amount of hormones, proteins and muscle enhancing injections worth over KD 200,000.

Weapons campaign

Weapons police launched inspection campaigns in Jaber Al-Ahmed and Doha in search of unlicensed weapons and ammunition. Security sources said after blockading both areas, checkpoints were placed everywhere and inspections resulted in arresting six people who had been wanted for financial claims and one for a drug-related five-year prison sentence.
