KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Sabah approved a request by Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality and Passports Affairs Major General Mazen Al-Jarrah to pay KD 5,000 to officers and KD 3,000 to policemen as reward for those who participated in discovering nationality forgeries, sources said. Jarrah lauded the efforts of the nationality department represented by its leaders and detectives and their efforts in exposing nationality forgers.

Jarrah denied that a list was submitted to the higher nationality committee of the Cabinet to revoke citizenships of several MPs or leaders or dual nationality holders, adding that there are no MPs or dignitaries among the forgers and that he did not give a statement on this at all.

Informed sources said the discovery of nationality forgeries the assistant undersecretary announced were not by accident, rather it was after more than two years of search and investigation that revealed forgeries and manipulation in the nationality and passports sector, although it is among the sensitive departments in the ministry. - Al-Qabas
