KUWAIT: The third meeting this year of the Positive Kuwaiti Volunteer Team was held on Oct 25, 2022 at the headquarters of the Sociologists Association in Adailiya, as part of joint cooperation between civil society organizations to support initiatives and community partnership. The meeting was attended by Narges Al-Shatti, Head of the Volunteer Team. Other team members include Dr Siham Al-Qabandi, Laila Al-Hanyan, Dr Loujain Al-Sayegh, Laila Apple and Hanan Al-Zayed. The agenda included the importance of increasing and encouraging the participation of new members of the team and encouraging female retirees to join in order to benefit the community.

The most important decisions were the following: (1) Supporting healthy cities in the regions of Kuwait. The first healthy city Yarmouk was guided by the cooperation of all governmental and private institutions and the participation of citizens to present an effective model to follow as part of quality standards set by the World Health Organization.

(2) Agreeing to hold an awareness meeting that includes all the parties supporting the achievement of healthy cities - by inviting the governors of the regions, heads of cooperative societies, mayors of the regions and all those interested to raise community awareness of the subject. (3) Holding awareness seminars in schools in various governorates and TV programs on health and safety.

(4) Supporting many creative, effective and sustainable initiatives to develop them in cooperation and community partnership with the office of healthy environmentally friendly cities. (5) Supporting and encouraging young people to join in teamwork, and emphasizing the importance of volunteer work. At the end of the meeting, the team leader extended her sincere thanks to the management of the association of the two meetings, headed by the chairman of the association’s board of directors Abdullah Al-Radwan.
