KHARTOUM: Zain
Group announces that the President of the Republic of Sudan,  Omar Al-Bashir has received Zain Group
Vice-Chairman and CEO, Bader Al-Kharafi at a meeting held in Khartoum, the
Sudanese capital. Also present at the meeting was Zain Sudan Managing Director,
Elfatih Erwa.

During the
meeting, Al-Kharafi took the opportunity to brief President Al-Bashir on the
transformative developments taking place at Zain Sudan, and the numerous successes
the company has scored over the years. Additionally, he re-affirmed the
confidence Zain Group has in the economy of Sudan, despite its many challenges,
and pledged that the Group would continue to invest significantly in
cutting-edge technology to provide the people of Sudan with exceptional
communications services.

Al-Kharafi also
noted Zain's commitment to promote and encourage digital innovation to the
country, with the company planning to launch online payment platforms as well
as implementing a range of initiatives to empower the youth of Sudan and
encourage them to enter the world of innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the
audience with the President of Sudan, Bader Al-Kharafi stated his desire to
follow in the footsteps of his late father, Nasser Al-Kharafi, who was known
for his interest and affection for Sudan and its people.

Bader Al-Kharafi
said, "Sudan is a strategically important market to Zain Group, and it has
the full support of the Board and executive management to keep on developing
and growing the operation in the country. 
We have always enjoyed exceptional cooperation from the Government of
Sudan, especially the Ministry of Communications in our various endeavors in
the market, which has helped us pioneer many market firsts. We are proud to be
able to harness the leadership's efforts to develop a more progressive and

President
Al-Bashir expressed his thanks to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah
Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the people of Kuwait for their constant support and
standing by Sudan throughout the years. Moreover, President Al-Bashir praised
Zain Sudan's achievements, highlighting the role the company has played in
improving the lives of ordinary Sudanese citizens either directly or
indirectly, also drawing attention to Zain's contribution to community and
economic development.

He added that the
Government of Sudan views with enormous satisfaction the impact Zain has had on
the telecommunications sector in the country, and he views it as an encouraging
model for other potential foreign investors. The President added that the
presence and success of Zain Sudan consolidates the brotherhood between Arab states
and he promised that his Government would continue supporting companies such as
Zain to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of progress in the
country.
