KUWAIT: Public Works Minister Ali Al-Omair said there must be solutions for traffic congestions in the fifth constituency, adding that these solutions must come through the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and the Interior Ministry's General Traffic Department. During a tour around the fifth constituency at and invitation from MP Ahmad Al-Azmi yesterday, Omair said that the goal behind the tour was to see firsthand and reduce the suffering of the area's residents.

"We heard several proposals and we will do our best to put them into action," he said. Omair said that some of the projects are already underway and others are going through the usual procedures to obtain approvals form the State Audit Bureau, as well as allocation of budgets from the finance ministry.

Meanwhile, Azmi said they were briefed on the needs of the area including roads, landscaping and traffic congestions near Dhaher bridge. The citizens in the fifth constituency are suffering from many obstacles and are in need for the government to meet their ambitions.

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna said the traffic department is performing its role in the roads issue through the five-party committee. He said that Dhaher and surrounding areas are suffering from traffic as King Fahd Road has changed from an expressway due to the many exits and detours.
