Located in the heart of the Qatari capital Doha, is the Golden Masjid, an architecturally unique monument that combines heritage and modernity by intermingling new and antiquated architectural techniques.

The mosque, overseen by the cultural village foundation (Katara), is inlaid with tiny pieces of gold, and its minaret shines a bright golden color, inspired by the design of old Qatari mosques. The mosque’s main building includes a prayer area and a sanctuary decorated with Arabic letters and embellishments, and its wooden doors are bedecked with ottoman-style adornments known as the art of kundekari. — KUNA
