KUWAIT: A security source gave full details of events that happened in Rabiya Thursday night, and denied that the suspects had any relations with the Islamic State (IS) group. The source said that a citizen was arrested with possession of bullets near Rabiya police station.

The man confessed during questioning that he has a firearm at home which he used along with another man in thefts, in which they stole vehicles and electric generators.

The man led officers to a location in Salmi where he said his accomplice was hiding, but the suspect was nowhere to be found. Police found another weapon and a large number of stolen material at the location. The second suspect was later located in Rabiya, so detectives went there, but his family enabled him to escape. Detectives asked for choppers to help in searching for him.

The source said the suspect’s brother was arrested, then was allowed to call his brother and convinced him that he will enable him to escape. The brother and detectives went to Salmy where the second suspect was arrested.
