Amir sends condolences to victims' families

KUWAIT: Five Kuwaiti citizens were killed and 13 others injured during a road accident while visiting the southern Iraqi city of Karbala, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Salem Al-Zamanan yesterday. Speaking to KUNA, Zamanan said that a bus, transporting the Kuwaiti nationals, overturned on Tel Al-Laham Road between Basra and Nasiriya. The ambassador added that those injured in the accident were taken to Al-Hussein Hospital in the city of Nasiriya for treatment. Zamanan added that the foreign ministry of Kuwait had instructed a number of Kuwaiti diplomats to head to the city to follow up on the situation and check on those who were injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Jamal Al-Harbi asked that Jahra and Sabah Hospitals be placed on high alert. He said he is in contact with the foreign ministry to get the latest information about the accident.
