Kuwait Times is publishing a daily recap of two Kuwaiti soap operas aired on Al Rai TV and MBC Drama. Here are the recaps of the ninth episodes:

Saq Al Bamboo

'Saq Al Bamboo' (Bamboo Stalk)

This soap opera focuses on a popular social problem in Kuwait - the bedoons (stateless people) - through the character of Ghasan. This was the main reason Ghanima did not allow him to marry Hind. Noor and Khawla now know that there was a love story between Hind and Ghasan and they think that he may still be angry as he was rejected by the family when he proposed to Hind.

Ghasan tells Eisa how his life is complicated as he is not a Kuwaiti. He says it was better before the invasion in 1990 as he still had a passport to travel and was also working in the army, but not anymore. He tells Eisa that Ghanima thinks he is traveling so that Eisa gets to live in her house, but in fact he can't travel.

Ghanima locks herself in her room and refuses to eat or open the door. Finally, she leaves her room, and finds her daughters in the living room. Nooriya tells her mother she will take her daughter Noor as she doesn't feel safe to keep her in the house.

Ghasan drops Eisa, and Hind and Awatif take him home. Eisa was planning on going back to the Philippines, but they take him in and he finally enters the Al-Taruf house. Khawla shows him his room, the diwaniya, maid's room and other parts of the house. He is shocked that he cannot enter the house and has to do so from the side. She also tells him not to talk to the servants and tell them that he is the new cook if anyone asks.

Been Galbin (Between Two Hearts)

Aryam talks to her uncle about Marzouq's father telling him she doesn't love his son and insisting to get divorced. She also agrees to give him a power of attorney to manage her property, telling him he is fully competent to do whatever he sees suitable with their business. He then asks her to think again about the divorce, and she agrees.

Noora tells her husband she is pregnant and that she is afraid as she doesn't feel secure, so he says he will increase her pocket money, but this is not what she wants.

Yasmin cuts her hair. On her way from the salon, she sees a signboard saying 'Flat for Rent', and pays a down payment for six months in advance. She goes home and in the morning when everyone's asleep, she moves into the new flat.

Aryam sees Marzouq with a woman in his car. He says it was his friend's sister whose car had broken down, but Aryam knows he is lying and that he was always cheating on her. Marzouq asks her to change her mind about the divorce, but she insists on her decision, so he takes their son by force to his house. Marzouq's father orders him to return the son to his mother after seeing Marzouq's unacceptable behavior.
