KUWAIT: The Supreme Council of Civil Aviation (SCCA) held an urgent meeting yesterday to discuss the progress of new security measures at Kuwait International Airport, to be implemented by US security firm TSA.

In a statement carried exclusively by KUNA, SCCA said that the meeting, presided over by Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Sulaiman Al-Fahad, tackled security precautions taken by the Ministry. Moreover, the officials reviewed new measures to bolster security in the airport, which aim to ensure maximal convenience to all commuters, the statement noted.

Meanwhile, the statement also pointed out that the airport no longer possesses the capacity needed to accommodate some 12 million travelers who converge on the airport yearly. - KUNA
