KUWAIT: Fire broke in the basement of a Farwaniya building containing paints and carpentry material. The fire was fought in a record time by Sabhan and Farwaniya fire centers. Non-commissioned officer Essa Al-Rashid from Sabhan suffered smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion and was taken to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, three citizens were injured in a fire in two cars in the parking lot of Mohammad Abdullah Al-Wahaib School's parking lot in Jabriya. Hawally fire center rushed to the scene and found the three citizens in a critical condition because of burns. Investigations are underway to find out the cause of the fire. Separately, firemen dealt with a fire in Jahra, as Jahra and technical rescue centers responded. The fire was in the basement of a building used as a storehouse by a restaurant. The building was evacuated and ventilated, and the fire was put out. It took two hours because of many violations in the building obstructing firemen's movements. The building's owner will be questioned over the violations in his building.

Ahmadi crackdown

Ahmadi security carried out several inspection campaigns in Wafra, Khairan, Mahboula, Sabahiya and Abu Halifa, resulting in arresting 14 persons wanted for debts, expired residency permits and other offences, 52 traffic violations were issued while nine vehicles, 16 motorcycles and three ATVs were impounded.

Traffic campaign

The traffic department carried out several campaigns in all Kuwait governorates last week, resulting in issuing 39,978 traffic citations, 1,949 vehicles were impounded, nine "wanted" cars impounded, two motorcycles impounded, 52 persons were detained and six expatriates were deported for driving without a license.
